At 8:00 am, meet your guides at the Hotel Renmark for a pre-walk briefing, before boarding the comfortable pontoon "cruiser" boat for a scenic 14 km cruise along the iconic Murray River. Along the way, explore peaceful lagoons teeming with waterbirds and learn about the fascinating history of a nearby World War II Japanese internment camp. You'll also cross creeks that nourish the lush red gum forests and box woodlands. As the walk progresses, a gentle climb through the stunning cliffs reveals panoramic views of the expansive Murray River floodplain, setting the tone for the natural beauty you'll encounter over the next three days. After a short transfer across the river, you’ll arrive at your luxurious houseboat, your home for the tour. Relax and unwind with a cooling foot dip in the river or indulge in the hot spa on board. End your first day with a delicious 3-course dinner, perfectly paired with local wines, as you settle in for an incredible journey along the Murray River.

Begin your day with an early morning walk to the rim of the stunning Murray River valley. As the sun rises, witness a breathtaking display of colors illuminating the landscape, providing a perfect backdrop for reflection and appreciation of the journey ahead.
After soaking in the views, return to your modern houseboat for a hearty cooked breakfast, fueling up for the day's explorations. Set out again on a 14km walking trail, where you'll discover the rich history of the region. Encounter ancient Aboriginal canoe trees, traverse majestic giant red gum forests, and wander through serene small islands along the lush banks of leafy Amazon Creek.
As the day winds down, return to your floating home, where a delightful local tasting plate awaits. Unwind and relax as you dip your feet into the refreshing waters of the Murray River, savoring the flavors of the region while surrounded by stunning scenery. This day is a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation, making it an unforgettable part of your Murray River journey.

After today's breakfast, featuring a great coffee and local navel oranges, you will cruise to the Chowilla Creek Environmental Regulator to learn about environmental watering and new stewardship for the river, before setting off on your walk. You will walk along Chowilla Creek and visit the proposed site of the 1960's Chovilla Dam. In the afternoon, complete the walking journey from Queens Bend Cliffs before cruising to the houseboat as the late afternoon sun illuminates the red cliffs.

After breakfast, you will take a self-guided 2 km walk along the river before cruising in the pontoon boat. Rejoin the houseboat downstream to the innovative Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery. Enjoy BBQ lunch on the Woolshed decking overlooking the river before saying your farewells.

After completing your 4-day walking tour with Murray River Trails, you’ll be met by your driver for a comfortable transfer back to Adelaide. Tours conclude at 14:00 on Day 4, and you’ll depart from Renmark shortly after. You can expect to arrive in the Adelaide CBD or at the airport by approximately 17:30, depending on traffic conditions.
