The adventure commences with a departure from Darwin, venturing into the verdant wetlands of WakWak, a mere hour's drive. Here, the Top End's spectacular natural beauty unfolds, offering prime opportunities to observe a diverse array of avian species and formidable apex predators, including crocodiles. Then proceed eastward, winding your way into the heart of Kakadu National Park, approximately 300 kilometers from Darwin. Upon arrival, settle into your local accommodation, continuing to immerse yourselves in the park's captivating sights and sounds. Exploration begins with a visit to the Bowali Visitor Centre, allowing you to absorb the park's landscape and wildlife before proceeding to the East Alligator region, Kakadu's northeasternmost point. This area provides the setting for an unparalleled cultural experience. Then, embark on the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise along the East Alligator River, which forms the boundary between Kakadu and Arnhem Land. During the cruise, we delve into the region's creation stories, observe majestic birdlife, and, with luck, encounter crocodiles. Visit Ubirr Rock, renowned for its exceptional collection of Aboriginal rock art. A climb to the summit rewards you with a breathtaking sunset panorama. You then return to your accommodation for a well-deserved dinner.
