Can I Change The Date Of My Australia Tour?

Madeline Ross·10 Jun 2026

Yes, changing the date of your Australia tour may be possible, but it depends on availability, timing and supplier conditions. Contact your Inside Australia Travel consultant in writing as soon as you can. Changes close to departure, especially within 7 days, can be difficult, and supplier fees or fare differences may apply.

How to Request a Date Change

  1. Contact your travel consultant in writing
Your amendment request needs to be made in writing by the person who made the original booking. If you’re already travelling or need help quickly, use the Inside Australia Travel contact page to reach the team.
  2. Tell us what needs to change
Include your booking details, current tour dates, preferred new dates and any parts of the trip that are fixed, such as international flights or family commitments. The more detail you give, the easier it is to check what can be moved.
  3. We’ll check supplier availability
Accommodation, car hire, guided touring, rail journeys, flights and activities all have their own conditions. A flexible tailor-made Australia tour is often easier to adjust than a set departure tour, but every booking needs to be checked properly.
  4. We’ll confirm any extra costs before changes are made
If the change is possible, there may be new rates, supplier amendment fees or cancellation charges for parts that have already been prepaid. Inside Australia Travel’s terms and conditions also note an amendment fee of $250 per person where changes can be made.

What Can Make Date Changes Harder?

Changes are usually harder close to departure. Within 7 days of your start date, availability can be tight and some suppliers may no longer allow amendments.

Set-date guided tours in Australia, guided hikes, rail journeys, peak-season hotels and prepaid flights can also be less flexible. This is especially true during school holidays, major events, Christmas and New Year, or popular dry-season travel periods in northern Australia.

If your preferred new date isn’t available, your consultant can look at nearby dates, alternate accommodation, a revised route or a different touring style that still keeps the trip workable.
