Margaret River is a destination that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Western Australian nature, arts, and culture. The town itself exudes an indelible buzz, characterized by a vibrant mix of artisan stores, galleries, and street art. Despite this energy, it remains anchored by the serenity of its surroundings; from the majestic tall-growth forests and rocky coastal cliffs to the undulating plains where world-class vineyards stretch toward the horizon. Internationally acclaimed for its premium wine production, the region showcases an abundance of award-winning cellar doors specialising in Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. However, the area’s identity is equally defined by its prominent surf culture. As the home of the Margaret River Pro, the coastline offers some of the most spectacular surf conditions and ocean vistas in the world. Whether through its gourmet local produce or its rugged natural beauty, Margaret River seamlessly blends a sophisticated culinary scene with a relaxed, authentic coastal charm.
This is the tour for people who don't like tours! Let Margaret River treat you to a day of luxury adventure as you travel down stream in canoe, enjoy a coffee on the beach, taste local wines and enjoy the epic views of the Indian Ocean from a 4WD. Spot Australian wildlife and wildflowers, and reflect on Aboriginal history dating back more than 50,000 years as you are taken on a journey where you won't get wet, dirty or fall in any water.
Witness the majesty of birds of prey at Capes Raptor Centre. Twice-daily encounters offer an up-close look at hawks and owls, revealing their hunting techniques and natural behaviors. As a leading WA rehabilitation facility, the center cares for over 40 raptors, including permanent residents and those being prepared for release. After your encounter, enjoy a tranquil 1km bush walk, observing diurnal and nocturnal raptors in natural aviaries.
Lake Cave is seriously spectacular. It’s set in lush karri forest, has a dramatic sinkhole entrance and a ‘suspended table’ crystal decoration hanging above a permanent lake. The most actively dripping cave in the region, it’s remarkably peaceful hearing the drips. It’s the smallest but deepest cave, with 325 stairs in all. The stairways are designed so that visitors only have to tackle a moderate number of stairs between rests – and the scenery from the first to the last step is your stunning reward.
Explore the majesty of birds of prey at Eagles Heritage! Witness eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls up-close during their twice-daily encounters (11am & 1.30pm).
