Destination view

Coolangatta is the southernmost suburb on the Gold Coast, 30 minute's drive south of Surfer's Paradise it borders the New South Wales suburb of Tweed Heads. Its point break at Snapper Rocks is an institution for surfers, forming the first part of the man-made superbank that plays host to the World Surf League's Quiksilver and Roxy Pros. The suburb is also a hub of urban activity with its alfresco dining options, shopping precincts, golf course, and annual Cooly Rocks On festival. A short walk from Snapper Rocks is Point Danger headland, home of the Captain Cook Memorial and Point Danger Lighthouse, and also a stunning spot for a vivid sunset. Coolangatta is also home to the Gold Coast Airport, so you can hit the tarmac and then hit the beach just minutes later.
