Destination view

The town of Clare is best known for its proximity to the Clare Valley, a wine and tourism region home to over 40 wineries, and some of the best tasting Riesling in Australia. Located 143km north of Adelaide and settled in the early 1840s, Clare is the first destination listed along the Explorer's Way, a 3000km journey stretching from Adelaide to Darwin. Clare is a place of historical interest with old buildings nestled among new establishments in the bustling main street. There is a Historical Walk brochure available which takes eager tourists on a journey around the township and takes around 2 hours to complete. One of the best ways to explore what Clare has to offer is the 35km, Reisling Trail, a bike track which kicks off from the Clare Railway Station.
