True North: Kimberley Waterfalls

Today, you will explore the breathtaking archipelago of over 800 islands, known for its rich biodiversity, lush mangroves, and pristine white sandy beaches - home to a diverse array of wildlife. Experience stunning scenic flights over the region, including an exhilarating flyover of the iconic Horizontal Falls. Your journey also includes fishing and sightseeing tours led by the ship’s knowledgeable naturalists.

Today, you’ll have the chance to rise at dawn to catch barramundi at “Three Ways,” followed by a bush walk to Ruby Falls, where you can swim in its refreshing natural rock pool. Then, embark on a Heli Fishing adventure to a secret, remote location. Lunch will be served as you weigh anchor and cruise to another Kimberley icon - Montgomery Reef. Here, you’ll witness a spectacular 140 square miles of coral reef rising right out of the ocean, home to turtles, dugongs, crocodiles, and a whole world of remarkable sea creatures.

At Prince Regent River, you’ll have your pick of unmissable fishing spots, targeting mangrove jack and fingermark bream. Then, at King Cascade, they’ll manoeuvre the vessel right under the falls for an iconic True North experience. Later, you’ll head out for a bush walk that leads to incredible views and an equally incredible swim in a picture-perfect billabong, or visit the spectacular Amphitheatre Waterfall.

Wake up with the sunrise and spend the morning fishing with experienced guides, or discover ancient rock art with the naturalist. Then, take a helicopter flight to an unforgettable picnic for a mouth-watering lunch beside a crystal-clear billabong in one of the most remote places on earth.

With stunning red cliffs set against rainforest and mangroves, the Hunter River offers the perfect setting for mud-crabbing, bird-watching, and exploring. Embark on an exhilarating hike to the hidden Jackson Falls, or see more breathtaking views from the helicopter. Then in the afternoon you’ll set sail into Prince Frederick Harbour for sunset drinks on the picturesque Crystal Beach.

Wake up in the stunning turquoise waters of Swift Bay. After an early breakfast, you’ll hunt for the region’s famous black-lip oyster. Next, you’ll explore nearby Wandjina rock art galleries, followed by sunset drinks on the picturesque Winyalkin Island.

Today, you’ll head upriver to the scenic Surveyors Creek known for its big crocs. Here you’ll join the hunt for barramundi or helicopter over the ancient land towards the Mitchell Falls. Then join in for the pearl and diamond party. Enjoy a glass of bubbles while trying on exquisite pieces created by the artistes at Allure, Jewels of the Kimberley and Kimberley Fine Diamonds.

Today, you’ll visit the Gwion Gwion, also known as “Bradshaw” rock art - ancient paintings that may be the oldest known to man. Afterwards, fish for mackerel in Vansittart Bay, take a helicopter to Eagle Falls for a picnic lunch amidst breathtaking scenery, or tender to local beaches and creeks.

As soon as the tide is high enough at the King George, you’ll cross the sandbar at the mouth to reveal even more breathtaking river vistas. The journey upstream will take you to the spectacular King George Falls. The captain will position True North’s bow directly underneath the falls, giving you the shower of a lifetime. Then, hop in the ship’s helicopter to enjoy a magnificent bird’s-eye view of this Kimberley icon.
