Upon arrival, lace up your hiking boots and grab your lightweight daypack for a captivating 3-hour trek. Your hike begins on the Black Swamp Hiking Trail and connects seamlessly to the Platypus Waterholes Walking Trail. As you meander through enchanting forests and woodlands, keep an eye out for vibrant birdlife, including Spring Orchids and Honeyeaters, that call this unique ecosystem home. With expert guides leading the way, dive into the fascinating history of Gondwana and its ancient mega-fauna. Traverse a diverse landscape of scrublands and low-lying terrain alongside the tranquil Rocky River, offering countless photo opportunities. Your destination for the evening is the charming Cape du Couedic Cottages, your base for the next three nights. These historic lightkeeper residences, meticulously built from hand-carved limestone in 1907, offer cozy twin-share rooms and modernized bathrooms for a comfortable stay. After settling in, choose your adventure: explore the iconic Cape du Couedic Lighthouse, marvel at the natural wonders of Admirals Arch, or observe the lively fur seal colony nearby. Alternatively, unwind with a warm shower, kick up your feet, and savor a pre-dinner drink. As the evening unfolds, gather at Wickies Lounge, the communal pavilion, for a delightful barbecue dinner featuring the best of locally sourced produce.
