Your accommodation: The Indian Pacific Gold Class
Step into a world of romance that epitomises rail travel. Gold Class cabins are the perfect place to relax and recharge after a day of off-train experiences. Head for the lounge or dining cabin for your all-inclusive dining service and all the comforts of home.
Today is all about the vast, unforgettable views of the Nullarbor Plain. You’ll journey across this legendary expanse on the world’s longest stretch of straight railway track, with endless horizons unfolding outside your window. Along the way, the train pauses at Cook – once a bustling railway town, now a near-ghost outpost with stories etched into its weathered buildings. By evening, you’ll reach Rawlinna, on the edge of Australia’s largest sheep station. Here, the outback comes alive as you dine beneath a canopy of stars at a spectacular signature long-table dinner (Sept–May). In the cooler months, gather around a roaring bonfire with drinks and canapés, soaking up the atmosphere of this remarkable setting.
Step off The Indian Pacific and tailor your journey with these exciting off-train adventures in The Nullabor:
Cook: Hidden deep in South Australia’s interior, the ghost town of Cook once thrived with life. Today, its lonely buildings and tiny population are a stark contrast to its bustling heyday. Established in 1917 as a railway support town, Cook played a vital role in developing Australia’s interior, with over 50 people maintaining the tracks. Now, visitors can step off the train and wander through this remote, time-worn town, offering a slightly eerie yet fascinating glimpse into pioneering Australia. It’s a unique stop, where history meets isolation, providing an unforgettable look at the country’s past.
Outback Experience at Rawlinna: Located on the edge of Australia’s largest sheep stations, Rawlinna is pure jackaroo country. This remote outpost on the Nullarbor Plain is a five-hour drive from Kalgoorlie and home to up to 80,000 sheep across 2.5 million acres. To put it in perspective, one paddock takes eight hours to muster by plane. In winter, Platinum and Gold Service guests can enjoy drinks and canapés around a bonfire under the vast Nullarbor skies. In the warmer months (October to March), elevate the experience with an unforgettable outdoor dinner under the stars.
You can submit your preferences for the off-train experiences you will join on each day. Please indicate these to your sales agent as soon as possible.
Your accommodation: The Indian Pacific Gold Class

Wake to the soft light over Western Australia’s Avon Valley, its rolling green hills a fitting finale to your Indian Pacific adventure. Savour a leisurely brunch on board as the train makes its final approach into Perth.
