Board the Indian Pacific in Adelaide

Celebrate the start of your journey with an exclusive evening in the world-renowned, Barossa Valley. You’ll spend the evening at Seppeltsfield Estate, delighting in fine wine and dining. Enjoy a signature culinary experience in the vintage cellar, created exclusively for Indian Pacific guests, complete with a spectacular ‘Firing of the Barrel’ and a food-and-wine pairing designed by Executive Chef Owen Andrews. Broken Hill

Overnight the Indian Pacific crosses another border, arriving in Broken Hill, New South Wales – the famed Silver City. After a hearty breakfast, set out to explore this legendary outback town. Choose your own adventure: visit the Miners’ Memorial and Sulphide Street Railway and Historical Museum for a fascinating look at the region’s mining heritage, or venture underground on a Daydream Mine tour for an authentic glimpse into the life of early miners. Art lovers can head to the Pro Hart Gallery for a ‘paint and sip’ session in the artist’s original studio, while foodies will enjoy a native ingredients masterclass with Chef Lee Cecchin, followed by a cook-off at The Old Salt Bush restaurant. Or, see Broken Hill’s vibrant personality shine with a lively main-street tour hosted by Shelita Buffet, Queen of the Outback.  Returning to the train for lunch and admire the changing landscapes of regional New South Wales. The Indian Pacific - Off Train Experiences in Broken Hill

Step off The Indian Pacific and tailor your journey with these exciting off-train adventures at Broken Hill:
Silver City Highlights: Explore Broken Hill on this scenic outback tour. Visit the Living Desert State Park to see the famous Living Desert Sculptures, striking sandstone artworks set against a desert backdrop. Savor native teas and Wattleseed brew for a taste of local culture. Then, head to the Sulphide St Railway & Historical Museum for a guided tour on Broken Hill’s mining history and early railways. Conclude at the Line of Lode Miners Memorial, offering panoramic views and a tribute to the miners who shaped the town's legacy.
Paint Like a Pro: Visit the Pro Hart Gallery for a unique 'paint and sip' activity where you’ll create your own masterpiece in the artist's original studio. Learn techniques from a member of the Pro Hart family and explore the gallery showcasing his iconic Australian outback scenes. Don a miner's helmet and headlamp for an underground tour, walking the same tunnels as 1880s Cornish silver miners. Explore a replica miner’s hut to learn about their tough living conditions. Shelita, Queen of the Outback: Join local drag queen Shelita Buffet on a fun, lively tour of Broken Hill, where she shares the town’s mining history, iconic buildings, and unique art installations. Blue Mountains & Sydney

Your final day begins in the majestic Blue Mountains, where soaring sandstone cliffs and eucalypt valleys create a World Heritage–listed landscape unlike any other. After breakfast, farewell the Indian Pacific and step into this extraordinary bushland for your Off Train Experience.  At Scenic World, choose from four iconic adventures: glide above ravines on the Scenic Skyway, descend into the forest aboard the Scenic Cableway, or ride the world’s steepest passenger railway. Alternatively, stretch your legs on a guided walk to soak up the views, or savour a decadent high tea at the historic Hydro Majestic Hotel, framed by sweeping mountain panoramas. To complete your journey, board a chartered New South Wales rail service, fully hosted by your Indian Pacific crew, into Sydney Central Station. For those preferring an earlier arrival, the option to remain on the Indian Pacific and reach Sydney before lunch is also available.

Scenic World & Echo Point: The Blue Mountains, a World Heritage-listed area, offers stunning natural beauty with rugged cliffs, lush forests, and unique formations. After arrival, visit Scenic World for four unforgettable experiences. The Scenic Skyway glides above ancient ravines, offering 360-degree views of the Three Sisters, Jamison Valley, and Katoomba Falls. The Scenic Cableway takes you 500 metres down to the valley floor, where you’ll then ride the world’s steepest passenger railway. Enjoy a light lunch at Echo Point Lookout, where award-winning wine and beer accompany breathtaking views. Finally, board a private charter train for a scenic journey back to Sydney Central Station, concluding an epic adventure.
