Mallacoota

Tucked between the sea and the magnificent wilderness of the Croajingolong National Park in the far eastern corner of Victoria is Mallacoota, one of Victoria’s best-kept secrets. The rivers that feed Mallacoota Inlet attract anglers from far and wide, as do the bountiful abalone and legendary flathead fish. Mallacoota inlet has still and calm water, perfect for swimming, kayaking, snorkelling, canoeing, and boating. Over 100 kilometres of pristine unspoilt coastlines provide plentiful opportunities for surfing, or simply a place to sit and watch the beautiful sunsets that the town is renowned for. Soak up the sun and coastal views on the Mallacoota Lakeside Shared Pathway, or on the Betka Creek to Secret Beach Walk. Mallacoota has plenty of food and drink options for hungry travellers, with pubs, cafes, restaurants, and fresh seafood aplenty. Located in the Croajingolong Centre is the Mallacoota Art Space, featuring the works of the town’s many impressive local artists, many of whom are inspired by the beauty of Mallacoota.
